Coachella Expanding To TWO Weekends In April!!!

Wow. Hmm. Good thing - or a bummer???
Organizers for Coachella have announced that next year's festival, for the first time in its history, will be held over two consecutive weekends. As tickets sold out in record time this year (one week), they thought it was a good idea to expand to meet the demand.

Scalding!!! He's never looked better EVER!

Alexander Skarsgard is this month's SMOKESHOW for Interview Magazine. While we paid more attention to the smoldering shots in the spread he did, courtesy of Steven Klein, we also found some of the tidbits he shared in his interview with Aracde Fire’s Win Butler quite interesting.

Check out some HIGHlights below:

Wanting diversity in his roles: “I do get a lot of scripts sent to me where they basically want me to play Eric from True Blood, but just a different name in a different movie. That’s not interesting to me. I don’t want to play a character that I’ve played for four years on a television show, change the name, and make him a zombie instead of a vampire.”

How he connects with the characters he plays: “In a weird way, I always play myself, just through different mirrors. If I read a script and I don’t connect with a character, if I can’t find the character on the page in my soul, then I’m not going to be able to do a good job.”

What types of roles he wants to play: “There’s got to be something new, something fresh. I want to almost be intimidated when I embark on a journey. I wouldn’t say there’s a fear, but I do get slightly nervous in the beginning when that happens, and I like that feeling. That triggers me a lot.”

Spoken like a true artist.

Wonder what aspects of himself he brings to Vampire Eric. Hopefully it's his glorious need to be nekkid all the time. Mmm!!!

Check out more hot shots of ASkars from the article in the spread (below).

So Wrong! Sculptor Carves Bronze Piece Of Justin Selena In The Nude!

There's a line and this is crossing it. They're still kids! Boo!
You probably all know the work of Daniel Edwards by now. He's the guy who created the nude sculpture of Paris Hilton playing with her dog and the other nude sculpture of Britney Spears giving birth. His latest work is titled "Justin and Selena [...]

Oh, lovely! Another Dina Lohan mom of the century in the making!

The world collectively shivered, and then gagged, when it was reported that 51-year-old Doug Hutchison married 16-going-on-meth-faced Courtney Stodden, which of course, is most creepy given the fact that her parents consented to what is essentially statutory rape!

But luckily, her mother Krista has opened up about the whole debacle, and wants the world to approve of the modern-day Romeo and Juliet, because she does!

She explains:

'He’s not creepy. He is such a great guy, he’s so intelligent. I see why they’re together, he looks like he’s in his early 30s, and Courtney looks like he’s in her late 20s. It’s like they’re talking about someone else when they say bad things about Doug. He’s with my daughter and I wouldn’t want a creepy guy with my daughter. He’s a wonderful, great man. Doug was managing Courtney's career, but he has so many things coming his way that he just can't handle it all. It will be better for Courtney with me managing her. I love my daughter, and I've been a good parent.'

Of course!

Since they look like they're closer in age then they ACTUALLY ARE, it's TOTALLY okay for them to be together! Phew!

We TOTALLY agree now! It's not creepy!

Now it's just SUPER effed up and disturbing! Congrats!

Rockabilly Is Aging Well

Mahalo ukuleles are cheap yet playable and beautiful ukes that are mostly made in China. They may not be the greatest ukulele in the world but they are constructed from decent materials and can produce acceptable tune. For someone who wants to get started to play and strum some music with a uke but does not want to spend hundreds of dollars, this is definitely a great choice.

A Virtual Smorgasbord For Exhibitions Around The World

For this art journal entry I have decided to select the Venus of Willendorf statue as my selected art piece. This 25,000 year old oolitic limestone statue even today remains a complete mystery to the historians who study it. Of particular interest is that oolitic Limestone is not local to the Krems area of Austria. The Venus received her name from the region in Austria where the small statue was excavated. What makes the statue so unique to art historians is the fact that it is the first of its kind to display such details.

From Timbuktu to the Mississippi Delta Conclusion

As a child of mixed Senegalese and French heritage who grew up in Mali, Senegal and France and whose journey led him to teach Jazz in the United States of America, I was always fascinated and intrigued by the level of cultural amnesia and the dearth of academic information that existed with respect to the socio-cultural contributions that West Africans taken from their continent through slavery had brought to the United States of America for 350 years. As an outsider looking in, I was often puzzled by and sought to understand why European Americans generated dance moves and rhythmic expressions on the dance floors of the US that were closer in aesthetics to those of West Africans than the original dance moves of their informed European ethnic heritage from Vienna or the Paris Opera.

Another Analog to Digital Exodus The World of DJing

Jazz has always been revered as a very colorful classification of music. You travel to another world when you listen to jazz. Jazz originated in New Orleans, LA in the early 1910s considerably due to the African-American residents. A combination of blues, ragtime, folk, and other types of music, jazz materialized as a kind of mimicry of European music of the age. Giving birth to numerous deviations over the years, jazz revolutionized the music stage in the south forever, employing brass, string, and percussion instruments.

Musicians Are Real People

How else can you describe pop music in the early 1950s than to call it "polite"? Exhibit number one: Patti Page's giant hit single "(How much is that) Doggie in the Window" recorded in 1952 and a number one hit in 1953. There was no edge to such music as that. It was nice and clean and... polite. The grown-ups loved it. The kids on the other hand were becoming increasingly discontent with what they were being offered. They wanted a music that was their own. As the mid 50s approached, you could say they hungered for music they could love. Enter rock and roll and rockabilly!

The Alliance Band New Horizons An Honest Review

When you buy an electric guitar, your purchasing doesn't end there. Unlike the standard acoustic guitar, you will need to purchase other things for your electric guitar. Now, when you buy an electric guitar it would almost always come with a guitar cable, a tremolo bar, and sometimes, a guitar pick. Electric guitars are electric guitars for a reason, and you will need a few other peripherals to really put yours to good use.

Royalty Free Music Library Stores

There are times when you need to have tracks that will complete a certain project you might be working on. Getting the license to use some of the songs that have been produced is usually a very expensive affair, which can make you not use the song you want to be used on the project. One can also get restrictions on how to use the songs, which can be very frustrating and might even slow you down. When faced with such a situation, you need to look for places that will offer you the tracks that can be used without a problem.

Learning The Violin Extra Accessories To Consider When Starting Out

When you decide that your band needs some business cards or you need to update your current business card make sure that you give it some good thought before you just jump right in and get 1,000 of them made up. Business cards are still a necessity for any band (or for yourself if you are a solo artist). As I stated in a prior article about handing out business cards, they are very inexpensive to manufacture but one should still think about what your goal is with designing a business card.

No word yet on how come, but Davy took to his Facebook page to express his regrets to his fans. Or more accurately, his rep did, saying:

“It has been determined that the remainder of The Monkees 2011 tour has been cancelled. No reason has been given at this time … We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support of The Monkees.”

Secrets, secrets are no fun! What happened? Who did what to who? Tell us!!!

Whatever the reason, it better be a good one. We don't suspect there will be many more opportunities like this. You guys aren't getting any younger, you know!

Look at that - there's still some justice in this world.

It's the conviction thats been eight years in the making.

A jury in Utah found Brian David Mitchell guilty this morning of kidnapping and continually raping Elizabeth Smart when she was 14 years old. After an almost five hour deliberation, the jury cast down the guilty verdict, which was met with by smiles from Elizabeth and her family in the courtroom.

Brian faces a lifetime in prison, which is lenient sentencing if you ask us, but it will do.

A justifiable end to a tragic circumstances. Perhaps now, Elizabeth can put start anew. We wish her the best with that.

The difficulty of carrying a piano on picnics make up a full list of what cannot be undertaken with this gorgeous instrument. The modern piano has its history based on the stringed instruments of the olden days; but by the 12th Century, the keyboard was added to it. Ever since a real piano was designed in Italy during 18th century, it has created its own niche in the music scene.

Comedy Central funnymen Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have orchestrated a huge rally in Washington DC today in order inspire people to get interested in this year’s mid-term elections (which take place on Tuesday November 2) and, of course, to poke a little fun at the whole entire political process. Our dear Jake Gyllenhaal, who was recently spied in the close company of Country/Pop star Taylor Swift, was spotted enjoying a lunch date with Cougar Town actress Busy Philipps here in SoCal yesterday afternoon. Despite the seeming coziness of the pair, I’m pretty sure there was nothing untoward going on between the two … Jake and Busy are godparents to Matilda Rose Ledger (daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger) and were prolly just having a friendly pow-wow together:

Even tho there’s no rule that godparents can’t be romantic, I’m pretty sure these two are merely good friends. That being said, I think I would much prefer it if Jake were romantically linked to Busy rather than with Taylor. As much as I would love Jakey poo to be single and available (you know, just in case), I think I could live with him settling down with a nice girl like Busy. I think Jake gettin’ bizzy with Busy makes a Hell of a lot more sense than his fraternizing with Taylor.

Chris Brown Once Again Shows His True Colors

Chris Brown managed to offend thousands people with just a few ignorant words this week, but it wasn’t his so-called slur that has me miffed, it’s his complete failure to apologize. This guy may be the only human being in show business who CAN’T say “there is no such thing as bad publicity.” He is a real pro at ruining his image and reputation, and then completely failing to rehabilitate it. It’s uncanny. We’ve all beaten the crap out of the Rihanna domestic violence story. Most people agree that he never really apologized, and that the only thing he really put effort into was keeping himself out of jail. Then there was the Good Morning America incident, where the singer apparently had a rage-fest, which involved throwing chairs and making threats of violence. Fast-forward a few weeks, and we have this lovely little gem of immaturity. Brown was apparently on the verge of getting a pricey parking ticket, but was able to talk his way out of it. But rather than be satisfied with that, he decided to accuse the paparazzi of setting him up by telling the parking enforcement people about his illegal parking job. In the process, he [...]
